When the PCA was being formed, the importance of building an effective women's ministry was recognized. It was believed that for the PCA
to be an effective ministry, men and women would need to use their gifts in concert to build the church.
At the 1st General Assembly in 1973 a statement was adopted. It reads in part... "Women in the Church can offer their special gifts and talents to the Lord through His Church. Each individual woman may make a unique contribution to the life of the Church... women have gathered together in a definite organization in the local Church and in the Presbytery [so] that they may work effectively to further the Kingdom of Christ.”
Palmetto PresWIC consists of ALL the women in our particular Presbytery churches and exists for the purpose of connecting our women together through:
- Retreats and gatherings for spiritual growth and fellowship
- Communicating PCA resources and opportunities
- Providing help & encouragement to local WIC organizations
The PresWIC organization is guided by a constitution and its leadership consists of a PresWIC council.
We are in process. Simply stated, guided by prayer and discussion, we desire to have PresWIC continue to be women in the Lord, joining together to effectively encourage one another in spirit, work and fellowship.
